What is Yoga?

The word "yoga" means union in Sanskrit, the language of ancient india where yoga originated. The union can be defined as the mind, body and spirit connection. Yoga is a scientific system of physical and mental practices that originated in India more than 3000 years ago. Yoga is described by the Sanskrit word "asanas" which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses. Its purpose is to help each one of us to achieve our highest potential and to experience enduring health and happiness within us. With Yoga we can extend our healthy, productive years far beyond our years and at the same time improving the quality of our lives.

Yoga is a healing system of theory and practice. It is a combination of breathing exercises, physical postures, and meditation. Yoga is a form of art or type of exercise that involves moving your body in ways that strengthen your muscles and allows you to find inner peace and harmony. It is a system of movement that can not only be gentle to improve healing but challenging enough to shape the body & mind to a more positive and confident you!

Wellness is achieved through the practice of yoga and in turn becomes a great way to aid in your weight loss goals. It can also change the body’s physiology to improve the way you metabolize the foods you eat by reducing the stress in the body and mind.
